When you use this unit simultaneously with a device from which strong radio
waves or voltages are emitted, confirm the effect of this before using such devices,
and install this unit in a way that minimizes the effect of radio wave interference.
Connection
Connect the D-sub 15-pin connector of the SMF-405 to the D-sub 15-pin
terminal (female) of the Sony Medical monitor and the BNC connector of the
SMF-405 to RGB+Composite Sync signal output terminals.
Notes
Before connecting, make sure that the power to all of the equipment is turned off.
Do not insert forcibly the cable to a connector of a different shape.
Firmly insert and fix the D-sub 15-pin connector. If the connection is loose,
images will not be output.
Check the figure to connect the BNC connector. Improper connection may
result in a malfunction or poor image.
For details, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the connecting unit.

of BNC connectors as indicated in the figure.

Généralités
Le SMF-405 est un câble qui relie les moniteurs médicaux Sony dotés d’une
borne femelle D-sub haute densité à 15 broches aux bornes de sortie du signal
de synchronisation RGB + Composite.
Moniteur compatible avec le SMF-405
Ce câble peut uniquement être raccordé aux moniteurs médicaux fabriqués par Sony.
Le raccordement à un autre appareil peut entraîner un dysfonctionnement.

Si cet appareil est utilisé conjointement avec un couteau électrochirurgical, par
exemple, l’image risque d’être perturbée, déformée ou anormale en raison des

Raccordement
Raccordez le connecteur D-sub à 15 broches du SMF-405 à la borne D-sub à 15
broches (femelle) du moniteur médical Sony et le connecteur BNC du SMF-405
aux bornes de sortie de signal de synchronisation RGB + Composite.
Remarques
Avant d’effectuer un raccordement, assurez-vous que tous les appareils sont
hors tension.
N’insérez pas de force le câble dans un connecteur d’une autre forme.
Insérez-le fermement et fixez le connecteur D-sub à 15 broches. Si le
raccordement est lâche, les images ne seront pas émises.
Consultez le schéma pour raccorder le connecteur BNC. Un mauvais raccordement
peut entraîner un dysfonctionnement ou une image de qualité médiocre.

The SMF-405 is a cable that connects Sony Medical monitors with a high-density
D-sub 15-pin female terminal to RGB+Composite Sync signal output terminals.
Monitor that can be used with the SMF-405
The cable can be connected to medical monitors made by Sony only.
Connecting to other equipment may cause a malfunction.
For details about medical monitors compatible with the cable, please contact
your Sony dealer.
Precaution
Do not damage the cable.
Damaging the cable may result in a fire.
Do not modify or damage the cable (including the connector).
Do not place heavy objects on or pull the cable.
Keep the cable away from heated appliances, and do not apply to heat it.
When attaching or removing the cable, be sure to hold the connector.
When the cable is used in a location under an external pressure, apply the
protective measures.
